Above are examples of different camera shot techniques that we could include in our music video. As a group we are planing on incorporating a lot of close up and reaction shots so that the audience can empathise with the protagonists unhappiness. The research above is going to inspire my group and I to use a variety of shots in order to take our music video appear interesting.

Suicide scene:
|
Before the girl goes into the bath the camera zooms into the tap that is seen running. |
You see the girls foot placed into the bath first before you
see the girls face.Close up of foot creates suspense.
|
See the girl lowering
herself into the bath medium long shot see the back of her.
|
I thought this was a really powerful shot and this enables the actress to connect with the audience emotionally because she is looking directly into the camera.
Medium close up of girl looking into the camera
suggesting she is about to kill herself, she has given up upset deeply frustrated.
Medium eye level shot of girl about to drown. The girl is looking directly at the camera connecting and capturing the audience.
High angle shot of girl see the girl crying while sinking
into the bath.
|
Girl is placing her head beneath the water.A medium close up is used which invites the audience to witness the characters demise.
Bubbling coming from the water
audience knows she is dead.Music could potentially stop playing at this point and the camera could lose focus as seen in the shot above.
High angle mid close up of girls face camera zooms the camera in a sense is hinting to the audience that they must not intrude on the character any more.
High street scene:
The character is talking to someone begging on the streets we can see her mouth move but we can not hear the dialogue this is a clever technique that we could use selective focus is used where the background is blurred but the image of the girl in the foreground is focused.
Selective focus close medium close up so that the audience
can identify with the characters anxiety.
Smokes into the camera so that the
smoke fills the screen close up camera zooms into charters face tears perhaps
streaming down her face.
Bathroom Scene:
Mid long sot of the girl in the bathroom looking in the mirror,so the camera angle gives the effect that the audience can look but they are not initially invited inside so it gives the effect that the audience are intruding on the girls privacy.
Dolly shot camera moves into the room camera zooms on the girls back s the audience follow the movement of the camera indicates in a sense that the character has invited them in.
Camera movement then zooms in further into a over the shoulder shot so the audience is approaching the character to comfort her.
Blurred mid close up of the girl putting on makeup for male company.
Bedroom scene:
Select focus on the main character in the shot of the character of the male customer is blurred out.
Select focus used once again close up so the audience can see the emotion that the actress is trying to convey.
Park scene:
Mid close up the girls face is looking into the camera and then you can see the park in the background.
Mid Long shot used of girl sitting on a wall for park scene.
Mid long shot of gril on the park bench match shots sued below which shows different angles of the girl still on the bench
Mid clsoe up of girl on the bench from the back.
Mid clsoe up as pans movement is used so you get a closer perspective of the girl on the bench.
Mid close of girl exploring in the trees as if she is seeking happiness and freedom.
Low angle of girl exploring trees so the viewpoint of the camera is as if the auidence are looking up at her.
This shot my group and are considering to do as a 360 degree angle so that we can capture the full perspective of the character in this shot she is smiling and seeking joy in something that may be considered to be in significant in some-ones everyday life sunlight she is determined to be happy she is seeking joy.

Can you focus this down by cutting the page into three or four pages each of which focus on a critical moment in the film. Contextualise each by associating it with the timeline
